CNAS held China Cross-Strait Medical Laboratory Accreditation Seminar and Western China Medical Laboratory Quality Management Training Course in Xi’an

CNAS held China Cross-Strait Medical Laboratory Accreditation Seminar and Western China Medical Laboratory Quality Management Training Course Joint Conference during July 4th and 5th in Xi’an, China, in accordance with the 2013 Cross-Strait Accreditation Co-project Plan. More than 120 representatives from accreditation bodies and laboratories of Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan of China participated in this event.

International Organization for Standardization / Technical Committee on Clinical Laboratory Testing and in Vitro Diagnostic Systems (ISO/TC212) WG1 convener and ISO 15189 drafting team convener Mr. John JAMES was invited to deliver a presentation on the changes and requirements of the most recent ISO 15189. Representatives from CNAS, TAF and HKAS respectively reported their current status on the medical laboratory accreditation and medical PT, and moreover discussed their further cooperation opportunities. 

Through this joint event, the participating accreditation bodies and laboratories earned a better understanding on ISO15189: 2012.  Meanwhile, this event also laid the foundation for the subsequent IS015189: 2012 transition work, and offered the great opportunities for the communication and exchange between CNAS, TAF and HKAS.
