“Demonstrating the Accreditation Achievements of this Decade” CNAS English Speech Contest Successfully Held

To celebrate the forthcoming tenth anniversary of the founding of CNAS in August this year, “Demonstrating the Accreditation Achievements of this Decade” CNAS English Speech Contest was held on 28th June, 2012. CNAS Chief Executive Mr. XIAO Jianhua, Deputy Chief Executive Mr. LIU Xin and FAN Enjian attended this event.

In his opening remarks, Mr.XIAO addressed that the China’s unitary national accreditation legal entity was established on the 20th of August 2002. From then on, our national accreditation system has been in the phase of integration and unification, marking a new chapter in the development of the accreditation industry. For the last decade, under the leadership of successive CNAS leaders, through great efforts and endless innovations, the CNAS staff has made extraordinary achievements in finding a development path for the accreditation industry with Chinese characteristics. They have dedicated themselves to practical applications in order to push the development of the accreditation industry by leaps and bounds. Their work has breathed vigor and vitality never seen before into China’s accreditation industry, contributing to the continuous expansion of the accreditation industry, the increasing of the accreditation proficiency as well as the growing of the talent pool. China’s foreign trade as well as the economic and social development has also benefitted therefrom.

In addition, Mr.XIAO highlighted that in the next decade, the development of accreditation industry will speed up and there will be a bright prospect. The "Quality Development Outline" and "12th Five-Year Plan” will act as a blueprint for China’s development and we must seize every opportunity to accelerate the development of the accreditation industry. As accreditation professionals, we are obligatory to faithfully honour our mission of "impartial accreditation to win recognition”, and to efficiently fulfill our role in" delivering trust and serving development".

To reflect the distinctive internationalization feature of accreditation and demonstrate the achievements of CNAS accreditation international talents, this Speech Contest was held entirely in English.  17 well-prepared contestants participated in this very event, and delivered excellent presentations through reviewing the ten years’ journey of CNAS hard pioneering work, talking about their practical accreditation work with their true emotions, demonstrating their talents as accreditation professionals, and showing the bright outlook of accreditation industry. The contest continuously fueled by the thunderous applause, and one climax after another, created a very warm atmosphere. It was beyond just a competition, but also collective memories recall of CNAS's past ten years journey.

Mr.LIU announced the winners list and the Excellent Group Awards at the end of the contest. The awards ceremony is going to be held on August 20th 2012, CNAS tenth anniversary.
