The Fourth China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) joint team meeting was held in Beijing on 20-21 May 2014. Ms. Jennifer Evans, Chief Executive Officer of NATA, led NATA delegation to Beijing to attend the meeting. Mr. Xiao Jianhua, Chief Executive of CNAS, and Dr. Song Guilan, Deputy Chief Executive of CNAS, led CNAS team to attend the meeting.
Issues on the window product sub-project and steel product sub-project of “CNAS–NATA Product Safety and Quality Project ” were discussed during the meeting, including product quality, government regulatory policies, standards, testing, accreditation, and the equivalency of testing results under the framework of mutual recognition arrangement.
During the meeting, the CNAS-NATA Joint Team also visited Building Engineering Testing Center, China Academy of Building Research, witnessed window performance testing to Australian standards and discussed the contents and template of window testing reports. This CNAS-NATA Joint Team Meeting further exerts the role that accreditation bodies play in ensuring product quality and promoting bilateral trade. This meeting is of great significance for promoting Chinese export trade. |
