CNAS Accreditation Delegation Visited Korea, Japan and Hong Kong for Information Exchange

China Accreditation System, which is in line with international practices and has Chinese characteristics, was established with the development of China accreditation and certification in recent years. Accreditation plays a more and more important role in facilitating international trade. In order to further improve the international influence of China accreditation, promote the improvement of accreditation, enhance the cooperation and exchange with accreditation bodies in neighboring countries and regions, strengthen China-Japan-Korea accreditation cooperation mechanism, and strengthen accreditation cooperation and exchange with Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, CNAS accreditation delegation leaded by Madame Wang Fengqing, Chairperson of CNAS, visited Korea Accreditation Board (KAB), The Japan Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment (JAB), Hong Kong Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Commission, and Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) in late May 2010. Mr. Xiao Jianhua, Chief Executive of CNAS also attended the visit. During the visit, the delegation also carried out communication and exchange with related certification bodies, testing bodies and business community representatives.

 

During the visit, accreditation bodies extensively exchanged their recent development and experience on accreditation. They also had a thorough discussion on some issues commonly concerned by all of them. KAB highly appraised China certification and accreditation administrative supervision system and expressed their great gratitude to CNAS for providing support in supervising and managing Korean certification market. KAB also expressed its wish to enhance cooperation between CNAS and KAB so as to promote the continuous stable and healthy development of certification and accreditation market in Asia Pacific region. JAB highly appraised China unitary accreditation system. Both parties exchanged related supervision measures and the development of new accreditation programs. Hong Kong Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Commission, Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification, and Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) introduced the development program and accreditation situation of Hong Kong testing and certification in recent three years. Both parties discussed and communicated relevant information.

 

This visit has achieved a complete success. The China-Japan-Korea accreditation cooperation mechanism has been strengthened, communication with Hong Kong Special Administration Region on related activities has been promoted, updated information on accreditation has been exchanged.
