The third China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) joint team meeting was held in Sydney, Australia on 24-27 March 2014. Dr. Song Guilan, Deputy Chief Executive of CNAS, led CNAS team to Sydney to attend the meeting. Ms. Jennifer Evans, Chief Executive Officer of NATA, led NATA delegation to attend the meeting. Issues discussed during the meeting include quality, testing, accreditation, the equivalency of testing results under the framework of mutual recognition arrangement relating to window products of the “CNAS–NATA Product Safety and Quality Project ” , and management of fee collection for accreditation activities. The CNAS-NATA Joint Team also had a meeting with Australian Window Association (AWA). Requirements in Australia construction code and relevant Australian standards were discussed. How to use testing results of CNAS accredited laboratories to ensure the quality of windows importing to Australia was further discussed. This CNAS-NATA Joint Team Meeting better exert the role that accreditation bodies play in ensuring product quality and promoting bilateral trade. This meeting is of great significance for promoting Chinese window export trade. |
